3 Signs You Need a Fitness Coach

and what I wish someone had told me years ago

friend!

And I'm already cringing because this sounds like every fitness ad ever.

But after Monday's confession about hip circles in budget meetings, a few of you asked if you need professional help to figure out this whole movement thing.

Very much giving "am I broken or just human?" energy.

Here's what I see though (and what I wish someone had told me years ago):

You're overthinking this. Most of the time, you don't need a coach. You need permission to start moving badly.

The 3 signs you actually DO need a fitness coach:

Sign #1: You keep getting injured doing basic movements. If squats hurt your knees or walking gives you back pain, get professional help. Your body is trying to tell you something.

Sign #2: You've been "starting Monday" for 6+ months. When you can't stick to anything for more than a week, you need accountability and structure that only another human can provide.

Sign #3: You have specific goals that require expertise. Training for a marathon, recovering from surgery, or dealing with chronic conditions? Yeah, get a coach.

But here's the thing: If you just want to feel better in your body, move more, and have energy for your day? You probably don't need professional help.

You need to start small and build momentum.

Quick reality check: Before hiring anyone, try moving for 2 minutes a day for one week. March in place. Do wall push-ups. Stretch your arms overhead.

If you can't manage that consistently, a coach won't magically fix your motivation.

Speaking of starting small - I posted my first YouTube video showing exactly how to begin! Very much giving "terrified fitness coach on camera" energy, but it might help you figure out if you can handle this on your own first.

P.S. Most people need encouragement more than instruction. Consider this your encouragement.
