The 7-minute sweat that saved my sanity

Because sometimes 7 minutes is all you’ve got—and that’s enough.

friend, let me paint the picture for you.

One child yelling in the background.
The other asking for a snack I don’t have.
Phone buzzing. Laundry still sitting.
And me—feeling like I haven’t had one moment to myself in days.

But instead of saying, “I’ll do it tomorrow” like I’ve done so many times before…
I closed the bedroom door.
Set a 7-minute timer.
And moved my body like I was trying to shake off the weight of the day.

Here’s exactly what I did:

⏱ 30 seconds jumping jacks
⏱ 30 seconds squats
⏱ 30 seconds pushups
Repeat 3 times

No equipment. No mat. No music (you can add this if you wish).
Just me, my breath, and my decision to show up anyway.

And when I walked out that room, I wasn’t dripping in sweat…
but I felt lighter.
Mentally. Emotionally.
Because that 7 minutes reminded me I still matter, too.

So if today feels heavy, I’m not asking you to carve out an hour.
I’m just asking you to carve out a moment.
Because you’re worth that.
