Yes, I eat after 8pm. Here’s why you can too.
You don’t need to be hungry to be healthy.
Hey friend!
You’ve probably heard it before.
“Don’t eat after 8pm.”
As if your body turns off at night.
As if your hunger isn’t valid after a certain time.
But I’ll tell you the truth:
I’ve eaten at 9pm. I’ve eaten at 10pm.
I’ve even stood in the kitchen at 11:17pm with a bowl of rice and peas in one hand and a spoonful of plantain in the other
and I didn’t feel guilty for a second.
Because once I stopped trying to follow all the food rules I was told…
I actually started feeling better in my body.
More calm. More in control.
Less bingeing.
Less guilt.
It was never the time that was the problem.
It was the shame we tie to food, especially as women.
Now, if I’m hungry at night, I eat.
And I keep it simple. Something like:
🥣 Greek yogurt, cinnamon, a drizzle of honey, and a sprinkle of oats.
Comforting. Filling. No drama.
You don’t need a perfect eating window to be healthy.
You need peace.
And peace comes when you start listening to your body again.
